Account Deletion

This document explains how to permanently delete your Ollin account and associated personal data, what data is retained and why, and your rights under applicable law.

Section 01

Overview & Purpose

In compliance with Apple App Store Guideline 5.1.1(v), Google Play Store policies, and Article 7 of Egypt's Personal Data Protection Law No. 151 of 2020, the Ollin mobile application provides a built-in account deletion feature that allows you to permanently remove your account and associated personal data directly from within the application.

The deletion functionality is accessible through your profile settings and requires identity verification (password re-authentication) to prevent unauthorized deletion requests. You do not need to contact customer support to initiate an account deletion — the process can be completed entirely within the app.

This document should be read in conjunction with our Terms & Conditions, which contain our full Privacy Policy, Data Protection provisions, and Data Retention Policy.

Section 02

Eligibility & Access

The account deletion feature is available to all authenticated users who are currently logged into their Ollin account. To initiate a deletion request, you must:

  • Be logged into your Ollin account with valid credentials.
  • Successfully verify your identity by entering your account password.
  • Confirm the deletion request through the final confirmation dialog.

If you are unable to access your account (e.g., forgotten password, locked account), you may request account deletion through alternative methods described in Section 10 below.

Section 03

Account Deletion Steps

The following steps describe the complete in-app process for permanently deleting your account:

Step 1: Launch the Application

Open the Ollin mobile application on your device and log into your account using your registered credentials. After successful authentication, you will be directed to the main dashboard.

Step 2: Navigate to Profile

From the main interface, select the Profile icon or menu item located in the application's navigation bar. This opens your personal settings and account management area.

Step 3: Open "My Profile"

Within the profile section, select "My Profile" to access your personal account details, security settings, and account management options.

Step 4: Locate "Delete Account"

On the My Profile page, scroll to the bottom of the page where account management options are displayed. Among the available options, you will find the "Delete Account" button.

Step 5: Identity Verification

After selecting "Delete Account," the application will prompt you to enter your account password. This identity verification step is mandatory to ensure that only the legitimate account owner can initiate an account deletion request, preventing unauthorized deletions.

Step 6: Final Confirmation

Following successful password verification, the application displays a final confirmation dialog clearly stating that: (a) your account will be permanently deleted; (b) access to your account will be permanently removed; (c) this action cannot be undone. You must select "Delete Account" to finalize the deletion request.

Section 04

Consequences of Deletion

Once you confirm account deletion, the following actions are taken. Please review carefully as this action is permanent and irreversible:

Account Permanently Removed

Your user account is permanently and irreversibly removed from the Ollin system. You will no longer be able to log in or access any account features.

Access Revoked

All access to the Platform, including any active sessions on all devices, is immediately revoked upon completion of the deletion process.

Personal Data Deleted

Personal data not subject to legal retention requirements will be permanently deleted within 30 days (see Data Retention Policy below for exceptions).

Automatic Logout

You are automatically logged out from all devices and redirected to the login or welcome screen.

Section 05

Outstanding Financial Obligations

Important notice

Deleting your Ollin account does NOT cancel, waive, or extinguish any outstanding financial obligations under an active Finance Contract. You remain legally liable for all unpaid amounts, including principal, accrued interest, fees, and any applicable late payment charges.

  • All outstanding loan balances, unpaid installments, and any accrued fees remain due and payable in full, regardless of account deletion.
  • The Company reserves the right to pursue legal debt recovery proceedings in Egyptian courts for any unpaid amounts.
  • Your repayment history and any defaults or delinquencies will continue to be reported to I-Score (Egyptian Credit Bureau) in compliance with Consumer Finance Law No. 18 of 2020, Article 15.
  • If you have an active Finance Contract, we strongly recommend settling all outstanding amounts before requesting account deletion.
Section 06

Data Retention Policy

While we delete your account and personal data upon request, certain data must be retained to comply with Egyptian law. The table below details what data is retained, for how long, and the legal basis for retention:

Financial Transaction Records

Required by Anti-Money Laundering Law No. 80 of 2002 (as amended) and FRA regulations.

Credit Bureau Data (I-Score)

Your credit data at I-Score is governed by I-Score's own policies and CBE/FRA regulations. Deleting your Ollin account does not delete your I-Score records.

All retained data is stored securely using AES-256 encryption at rest and is accessible only to authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis, in compliance with ISO/IEC 27001:2022 information security controls. Upon expiration of the retention period, data is permanently and securely deleted using industry-standard data destruction methods.

Section 07

Post-Deletion Data Handling

Upon completion of the deletion process, the following data handling procedures apply:

  • Personal data not subject to legal retention (profile information, preferences, app settings, usage data) is permanently deleted within 30 calendar days of the deletion request.
  • Legally retained data is segregated, access-restricted, and stored securely for the applicable retention period only. It is not used for any purpose other than regulatory compliance.
  • Backup copies are purged within 90 days of the deletion of source data through our regular backup rotation schedule.
  • Anonymized / aggregated data (from which you cannot be personally identified) may be retained indefinitely for statistical and service improvement purposes. This data does not constitute Personal Data under Law No. 151/2020.

  • Your account will be fully deleted within 30 calendar days of your confirmed deletion request.
  • During the first 14 days, you may cancel the deletion request by contacting us at care@ollin.com.eg. After the grace period, the deletion becomes irreversible.
  • You will receive an email confirmation when the deletion is initiated and again when it is fully completed.
  • Backup copies of deleted data will be purged within 90 days through our regular backup rotation schedule.

Third-Party Data

Certain data shared with or held by third parties is not directly controlled by Ollin after sharing. Upon account deletion:

  • I-Score (Egyptian Credit Bureau): Your credit data held by I-Score is governed by I-Score's own retention policies and CBE/FRA regulations. Deleting your Ollin account does not delete your credit bureau records.
  • Payment processors: Transaction data held by payment processors is subject to their own retention policies and PCI-DSS requirements.
  • Regulatory bodies (FRA, DPC): Any data already submitted to regulatory authorities for compliance purposes is governed by the respective authority's retention and data handling policies.
  • Cloud infrastructure providers: Data stored in cloud environments is deleted in accordance with our deletion procedures. Our cloud providers comply with ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 27018 standards.

Alternative Deletion Methods

If you are unable to delete your account through the in-app process (e.g., you cannot access the app, forgot your password, or have a locked account), you may request account deletion through the following alternative methods:

Email

Send a deletion request from your registered email to care@ollin.com.eg with the subject line "Account Deletion Request." Include your full name and registered mobile number for identity verification.

Phone

Call our customer support line at [Support Phone Number]. Identity verification will be conducted verbally before the deletion is processed.

In Person

Visit our registered office at [Registered Address], Cairo, Egypt. Bring a valid national ID for identity verification.

Regulatory notice

This account deletion process complies with Apple App Store Guideline 5.1.1(v), Egypt's Personal Data Protection Law No. 151 of 2020 (Article 7 — Right to Erasure), Consumer Finance Law No. 18 of 2020, Anti-Money Laundering Law No. 80 of 2002, and FRA regulations. Data security practices are aligned with ISO/IEC 27001:2022, ISO/IEC 27701:2019, and ISO/IEC 27018:2019 standards. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and any disputes fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of Egyptian Courts.
